Bihar move into Junior National hockey quarterfinals

Patna, December 14, 2011: Bihar moved into the quarterfinals of the first Hockey India Junior Men's National Championship at Balewadi in Pune on Wednesday.

According to information received here, Bihar defeated Uttar Pradesh 2-0 scoring in the first and last minutes of the match.

Junas Herenj scored the first goal for Bihar in the first through a penalty corner while captain Hemrom Ansalam increased the margin in the second half, and this too through a penalty corner. Uttar Pradesh struggled to find openings through the Bihar defence.

Now, Bihar will play Punjab in the first quarterfinal.
