Grand double for Naman in Bihar State TT

Patna, November 29, 2011: Naman Kumar won a grand double in the 60th Bihar state table tennis championship claiming the men’s singles and junior boys’ singles titles at the Bihar Young Men’s Institute, here on Tuesday.

In the men’s singles final, Aman prevailed over Piyush D Gandhi 11-8, 12-10, 11-8 and 11-4. Earlier, in the first semifinal, Naman beat Rahul Kumar 9-11, 11-7, 7-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-6 while Piyush D Gandhi downed Kishan Raj 11-8, 11-7, 11-9, 12-10.

In the junior boys’ singles final, Naman beat Piyush D Gandhi 4-11, 11-6, 13-11, 12-10, 12-10, 11-9, 11-9.

Tushar Kanti bagged the sub-junior boys’ singles title beating Aditya Uman 11-6, 11-9, 6-11 and 11-8.

Prof Sanjay Kumar and Rajiv Ranjan, MD, Manglam Enterprises jointly gave away the prizes. Dilip Kumar Gandhi, organizing secretary, welcomed the guests and Mukesh Roy, secretary, Bihar Table Tennis Association (BTTA), proposed a vote of thanks.
