Saraswati Vidya Mandir edge out Prakritik School

Patna, November 10, 2011: Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Siwan struggled to down Prakritik School, Patna by 11 runs and moved into the second round of the 27th All India Sukhdeo Narain inter- school cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Thursday.

Electing to bat first, Saraswati Vidya Mandir made 155 for the loss of six wickets off 25 overs. In reply,
Prakritik School boys stumbled out for 144 runs off 24.1 overs.

Prince (35) and Ranjeet (53) gathered 91runs for the first wicket for Siwan school. Ranjeet slammed five boundaries and one six in his half century. Kanha, Ranjeet and Atul each took one wicket for
Prakritik School.
Aditya Dhanraj (30) and Vishal (37) gave a sound start to Prakritik innings. But the latter batsmen failed to do justice with the bat. Pankaj got three wickets for 17 runs. Ranjeet of Siwan was adjudged man of the match.

In the second match, Merry Children School Hazaribagh crushed Litera Valley School, Patna by 185 runs.

Brief scores: Merry Children School: 219 for 9 off 25 overs (Prashant 21, Nitish Kumar 37, Naveen 72, Aditya 2 for 38, Divyanshu 2 for 39).
Litera Valley: 34 all out off 12.5 overs (Extras 19, Neeraj 3 for 3, Navin 2 for 15, Narendar 2 for 2).
